JHS Racing is an official motorcycle MOT testing
station serving Bristol and Bath, authorised by DVSA (formerly VOSA) to
perform tests for Class I and II vehicles (motorcycles).
An MOT certificate is a legal
requirement for any vehicle older
than three years from date of first
UK new registration. For any such
vehicle a current MOT certification
is also necessary in order to
acquire road tax for the vehicle.
The MOT certification status is
recorded on the central DVSA
computer system which is referenced
as part of the road fund licence
issuing procedure. This data is also
instantly available to police and
traffic enforcement officers.
You can present your motorcycle
for its MOT test up to 4 weeks prior
to the formal date of requirement.
You should be aware that it is an offence to use a
vehicle on the road that requires, but does not
have, a current MOT certificate.
The only circumstances in which
you may use a vehicle without a
current MOT certificate is when
making the journey to an authorised
MOT test station for the purposes of
the test. Such a journey can only be
made to meet a pre-arranged
appointment with the testing station
for the performance of an MOT test.
