Alastair combines a racing career with his work as a journalist for Fast Bikes magazine. Racing motocross since the age of 12, and reaching national level in the schoolboy ranks, Alastair went on to win the Hornet cup in his first year of road racing in 2004. Coming through national superstocks, and then last year racing an R6 in the hugely competitive Virgin Media R6 cup, Alastair demonstrated his natural affinity with the Triumph 675 by riding it to wins in three New Era Sound of Thunder races at Castle Combe in July 2007 -  smashing the circuit's lap record for the class in the process.
