Race report - Castle Combe 28th/29th July 2007

Triple takes a triple at Castle Combe
The weekend of 28th/29th July saw extraordinary success for the debut of JHS Racing's Triumph 675, with rider Alastair Fagan taking wins in all three of the Sound of Thunder races as well as setting a new lap record for the class at the Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire.

The outstanding results also made a little bit of history, as this was the first time for 40 years that a Triumph had achieved a race win at the circuit - let alone three in one weekend!

In order to gain maximum experience the JHS team also competed in the weekend's Superbike races, where even here Fagan made a good showing, achieving a 6th and 8th place in these events - a remarkable achievement considering he was running against 1000cc competition.

The Triumph 675 triple was acquired by JHS from Paul Young, where it had previously campaigned in the British Supersport series. JHS then undertook further development of the machine, which included modifying the engine's gas flowing along with revisions to the fuelling, adding a Leo Vince exhaust system with a modified collector, as well as bespoke development of the bike's suspension. With the data and experience gathered from Castle Combe JHS are now in a position to further develop the bike's potential.

With the combination of bike and rider now proven to be a highly competitive package JHS are considering an entry in the British Supersport championship.
